We don't just plan trips. We create opportunities to explore culture, deepen our understanding of ourselves, and experience places we may have never imagined were meant for us.

WHY WE EXIST
Travel Should Feel Like It Belongs to Us, Too.
For generations, Black travelers have explored the world, crossed borders, built communities, and found connection in places far beyond home. Yet travel is still too often presented as something distant, complicated, unsafe, or simply not meant for us.
Black Joy Global Travel exists to challenge that idea.
We create travel experiences and resources with Black travelers at the forefront of our thinking, not as an audience added after the fact. That means considering culture, history, community, safety, confidence, and the questions Black travelers may carry with them when experiencing somewhere new.
Because the goal isn't simply to help more Black people take vacations. It's to help more of us recognize that we have every right to explore the world, experience other cultures, find rest, discover pieces of our history, and return home with a broader understanding of what's possible.
We weren't invited into travel. We were already part of its story.
THE STORY BEHIND THE BRAND
It Started With Seeing More of the World
Black Joy Global Travel grew from founder Alphonso McCree Jr.'s own experiences seeing how travel could change the way a person understands the world and themselves.
After serving six years in the United States Air Force, including assignments in South Korea and Italy, Alphonso had already experienced what it meant to live thousands of miles from home and navigate cultures completely different from his own. Travel became more than something reserved for vacation. It became part of how he understood identity, possibility, and the size of the world beyond what he had known growing up.
Those experiences eventually raised a bigger question: How many Black people never get the opportunity to discover what seeing the world might unlock in them?
Black Joy Global Travel was built as an answer to that question. What began with a passion for travel became a company dedicated to creating thoughtfully planned journeys, sharing global Black history, teaching others how to navigate the world, and helping travelers give themselves permission to go farther.
Sometimes you travel to discover the world. Sometimes the world helps you discover yourself.
